Description
Cave Defender: Arcade Edition is an Oculus Go Tower Defense game. You play the role of an Asteroid Mining Supervisor, tasked with protecting mining equipment from incoming debris. You practice these skills in the simulator. Defend from incoming space debris using lasers and shields.
History
Cave Defender began as an entry for the 2016 Global Archiact Jam. It proved out tower defense gameplay in a stationary 3dof VR experience. I continued to playtest the game jam build, and decided to bring a full game to market as a side project. Development was off and on in 2017, but in 2018 I have kept a consistent schedule of working on it. Development was off an on until 2020 when it was released on the last day of new Oculus Go Store releases - December 18th 2020.
Features
- Endless mode
- 3 defense types
- A comfortable VR experience, no locomotion
